I am an experienced Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist based in Leicestershire since 2007. I now work in private practice and as an Expert Witness in civil and criminal cases after 30 years in the NHS. I am the Medical Director at Forensic Psychiatry Experts, a group of forensic psychiatrists involved in a range of expert witness work.

I have a particular interest in quality assurance of expert witness reports as a cofounder of Obiter Review, a rapid and cost-effective proofreading service for expert reports.

My expert witness work covers a wide range of issues across personal injury, clinical negligence and criminal cases.

My private practice is based in London and my expert witness work takes place nationwide.

From 2020-2023 I was Clinical Director at Arnold Lodge, a large and complex NHS medium secure hospital part in Leicester.

As Clinical Director, I was responsible for all aspects of life for our community of staff and patients at the hospital. Prior to that I was employed as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at Arnold Lodge from 2007.

From 2011 to 2019 I was also employed by Health Education East Midlands as the East Midlands Training Programme Director for Forensic Psychiatry.

As Training Programme Director, I was responsible for overseeing the training of doctors specialising in Forensic Psychiatry in Leicester, Nottingham and Lincoln, as well as those based at Rampton Hospital near Retford.
